I have a 97 challenger, single 787. the boat had been sitting a while before i bout it about 3 months ago.
I had it completely went though by a mechanic, and he got it running. said compression was great 146-150 in each cylinder. he went through the carbs several times before he found a spark problem.. it has newer fuel lines on it i think because they do not appear grey.
i took it out and it ran fine, had a hard time getting on plane, but once on plane it would run 50mph, and sounded great.
it started fouling plugs sometimes when i went out, and it would not reach max rpms. i would just replace them and it would be fine again.
now the boat will get on plane, and then cut out to an idle. if i idle for a while it will do it again.
the fuel pump is stuck on, so i have to unhook the ground from the battery.
i am thinking i have a fuel delivery problem, i am going to check the inline filter installed, and i am going to see if the fuel pump is working.
could this be a rave valve problem, i could use any help.
thanks
