1996 xp replaced mpem

I bought a 96 xp from a guy and he said it ran but then lost spark. when I got it he had unpluged 15 amp fuse in rear and jumpered to mpem i think . I got new recifier in it and coil . I took the jumper off replaced with new fuse and holder. not sure if he hooked them up to the soleniod right they all go to one post. Anyway I noticed 5 amp fuse kept blowning so I replaced mpem with used one out of 96 xp. I first got one long beep ... had to disconnect batt and re connect to get long beep again. I know dess has to be re programed but took it to shop they coouldnt even get a beep .. I am stuck no power to anything... please help I hate electrical lol

make sure the little red wire at the relay is connected to the post that the battery cable is connected to.

Double check your other fuses along with making sure battery isnt hooked up backwards...i know, dumb statement, but you never know.

thanks for the response ill check . now I am worried the vts module will ruin the mpem ? is that true

its protected with the 7.5amp fuse.

new details

I just tested the mpem per spec and all readings look good but the red/purple male and the red/purple female all have 0 ohms is this typical of a bad mpem? I should have tested this one before i put in , but I was getting one long beep now nothing what would burn out the mpem that fast. ? but I noticed the old ski this came out of someone had a 25amp in the 7.5 spot..

update on mpem prob 96 xp

Ok I am on my second mpem wit lanyard programed to it . I have replace coil, recifier, soleniod, brand new 180.00 dollar batt, checked all fuses all connections, including grounds cleaned . Now with the used mpem I bought from seadoo source. I do get the two beeps when landyard is connected.(before I didnt) But I still dont even get a the starter to crank nothing nada..I now starter works when I touch soleniod across post , and start/stop switch works ...figure this out ...and yes I even disconnected Vts mod just in case it would take out newer Mpem.

i would say that since the mpem is probably goofed up since all the diffrent keys it may not allowing the ski to start. i would take it to the dealer and have them make sure everything is kosher as far as the lanyards are programmed and starter turning over.
