i am looking to purchase a '96 sportster for $3000
just had top end re-built(pistons, rings, new cylinders, wrist pin bearings)
new jet pump (new wear ring, Solas impeller, pump bearings)
new oil and gas filters
new seat covers

Is this a good buy or not? I am new boat owner, and never have had a jet boat, but they look like a blast

I got a 99 sportster that I paid 2800 and needed new WR and could use top end kit so yeah its sounds like a good deal.
I'm just under 4k now with everything I've spent to get it right....

Sounds like a decent deal. make sure you water test it and try out every function it has. Dont just take the word of the previous owner on the rebuild. Got any receipts? Why did the last engine go out? Read up here and get some tips. check the compression, check to see if the oil injection stuff is working, check to see if gray fuel lines have been replaced.
