HI heading into February here in canada very cold but the days are getting longer and the thoughts are turning to the boat.

I am about to starts some maintenance on the boat and change a few things. But I have a performace question. When I drove the boat the whole 3 times last year as I got it in october I knowticed that if I mashed on the throttles the boat would not jump right out of the water, it would slip a bit then get going (this may be cavatation?). When I would ease into the throttle it would not slip . Is this normal for this boat. I could get the boat going around 48-50 mph from what the speedo said.

Thanks

i would inspect both wearring rings, and at same time, check the splines on the driveshafts along with the splines in the pto's and impellors. Just came up on impellor that had bad splines inside.

the wear rings are inside the reverse buckets, if you can slide a file folder thickness between the propellor and the outer ring this is your culprit, many times tree branches go in there and gouge out a segment but it is a low cost repair compared to propellor itself.
