1996 seadoo xp gauge

I want to replace the stock 1996 Sea-Doo XP hood cover with a single gauge hood cover. Where the gauges meet the other wires that go to the E box can I just snip the wire? Could I just cut where it is circled in the photo.

No, do not just cut the wires.

By the connector pin tool and take them out correctly.
