Hey guys, dirst I would like to say what an awsome site you got here, I just bough a 96 SP, it had been sitting for a few years, so the first thing I did was replace the spark plugs, all the fuel lines , fuel filter, removed the gas tank and empty all the old gas, cleaned the pickup screen (which was dirty as hell) cleaned the fuel selector switch, now with all that done I still have not tried to start the machine, is there anything else I should do befor starting it?, I know this seadoo personally(bought off brother inlaw) it ran like a champ when he parked it, thanks in advance for all the help

Remove the carburetor, disassemble and clean it. Hopefully you won't tear up anything and can just clean the crap out. Read the Sticky at the forum top completely. Seadoo's love to drink clean gas with some marine stabil in it. The ski on the left of my avatar is a '96 SP.

Okay got the seadoo started, fires up perfect, idels fine, my only concern is how noisey the motor is, sounds like tapping valves? since the seadoo wasnt started in a few years could this be dry bearings?, well it go away? besides that it runs great, the other thing I did was check the oil in the cone, and it was milkey, should i just remove the cone and replace it with jet pump oil or is there something else I should do?

You have water in the cone. Read up on replaceing in your manual or the how-to section, and leak-down test it with your pop-off tester. You can buy an anti-rattle kit for the cone, that will help silence that jingle noise in the jetpump at idle.
