1996 seadoo gti wont start

I have a 1996 seadoo gti. I bought a battery and installed it but when I go to start it up it turns over a couple times and the stops and then does a weird pattern of stuck to one rotation to back stuck. This is my first jet ski and I need help diagnosing the problem please.

I just bought a battery and I tested it at 12.84 v and have trickle charged it 2 times now.

Sorry for taking a while to respond I replaced the battery and that fixed it. Thank you for your help.
