Looks like my Info Center is FRIED and smells burnt. I am afraid to have it connected when I install the used DC CDI I just bought. I don't want to burn anything up in there.

Here is a picture of the panel. I don't have any lights, no beep, but the tach works. :) The white line in the picture is a florescent overhead light. Sure were a great many plugs to mark and unplug.

That is very common and you can replace the film on it that is wrinkled for $25. Just Google it.

Yes there is. You take a dremel with a cutting wheel and slice the metal ring that is around the face. what you do is make a 1/4in cut across the ring and gently pry the clear cover up. You will need to push the board and screen through the front. Then scrape the bad film off and stick on the new piece. Use some silicon to seal the clear cover back on and the sealant will hold the metal ring on.

I tried to do it cheap with some smart phone film and it didn't work.

Hey Spim- Here is a good thread on it. Really, just cut off the ring and toss it, carefully pull the thing apart, just a few screws, and scrape and clean the old film off. Then prep and put on the new film like a screen protector. Put it all back together and glue the lens on with some clear silicone and wrap with black tape for good measure. The hardest part is pulling out the gauge and putting it back in the ski. I think I still have some film pieces left. PM me.

I determined mine unit was bad by the smell. LOL I probably damaged it and need a replacement. I got ugly with it as I didn't want to disconnect all those wires. :D When I complete my current task list
I'll find a replacement....maybe.

thanks SD.
I'll take a good look at that thread after work, then pull out my gauges and see exactly what I have before I tackle it.

I know I have at least 3 laying around in a box, but want to be sure I have part #'s too so I know what models they fit.

Will the ski operate with the info gauge disconnected? What would be the outcome ?

Yes it will operate. Some harness wiring daisy chains through but I think you can disconnect the gauge and everything else will still work.

Thanks good to know. I just want to get it running and operating correctly before I do anything with the Info gauge. The only other instruments I have are the speedo and the Tach. If I can find a good deal on a info gauge I will by it, I'm just not ready to spend $200+ on one.
