Hello all.....new here and looking for some answers... I have a 96 gti that we bought new I have had it sitting for 2 yrs and decided to get it out again......ski fired right up and seemed grear...I took it out and every buzzer in it went off!...then it shut down.....hit the started button and all it did was click....motor stuck!....cooled off and fired right back up........came back on idle and took it to a local jetski guy....he cleaned the carb...water tanked it and gave it back sat another 3 weeks and retired it.........same problem this thing will runs all day as long as you don't give it gas!.... I beached it and removed the water hoses have flow to the head...removed other side have flo out of the head...what am I missing I really don't want to bring it back.......i seem to think I am lacking oil...it is barley noticable at idle...I don't remember what it was like years ago, but I can tell you my kawasaki smokes it butt off!.......I want to just block off the oil injection but don't know if I can?......anyone shed any light on this for me?...I am ready to just sell it at this point and buy a new one....but don't want to give it away over something I can fix and enjoy again........will it hurt if I mix oil with the gas...what ratio should I use?...again thanks for your time and help Tom

Welcome to the seadoo forum Tom. What is the condition of the spark plugs? I would check the cooling lines and elbows for a blockage. Don't mix up the elbows as they are marked and have a specific size for each application it needs to supply cooling to. If it had a heat seizure it would cool down and restart, but if it lacked lubrication, it more than likely not free it's self up. You could go to pre-mix on you model but I believe if memory serves me right the oil pump is on the intake manifold. You have to remove it and the gear behind it to disable the pump. You will need to leave the oil injector tank in place and keep the oil line to the rotary valve gear in the engine cases. It needs to lube the rotary shaft with injector oil. The premix should be 50:1 if you decide to go that route.
I hope this info helps.

Keep us posted on you progress.

thanks for your answer...just bought a block off kit for like 15 at a local boat shop looks straight forward.....I did not get a new intake gasket! hope I don't need it.....the instructions seem easy enough...I will update with my progress when I have it completed Thanks again Tom

seadoo uses O-rings everywhere. they usually survive multiple uses. don't forget. the big 2 oil lines have to remain hooked to tank and tank has to still have oil in it. the level won't drop unless you get a leak.

thanks guys.....I have found my problem.......the cable from the carb was just swining around in the hull!..it had rotted off the pump ...aswell as part of the pump!......it is late and dark... Of course I just had my parking lot at my restoration center paved today and cant get my skis into my building!....story of my life!.....I am going to add oil 40 to 1 and put it in my gas tank...the oil pump is only pumping at idle from what I can tell.....do you think this will be a problem for a few rides? is my mix correct....and last thing why can't I use tcw3........or con I now that I am mixing my fuel instead of injecting...thanks Tom

Het Dereck where are you in NJ.........I am also south West Deptford Twp......but we are MD boaters for the most part...thanks again for your input.Tom

40:1 is the correct premix ratio. Here is what seadoo recommends;

Use High quality low ASH API TC Injector oil.
Do Not use NMMA TC-W, TC-W2 or TC-W3 outboard motor oils or other ash less type 2 cycle oil. Avoid mixing different brands of API TC oil as resulting chemical reaction will cause severe engine damage. Never mix Mineral or synthetics oil together.

If you want to premix then you'll have to remove the gear from the injector pump, to keep it from burning out. The oil keeps it lubricated. I believe on your model it has a gear under the intake manifold where it is mounted.
If it is still pumping but at idle rate, it might foul the plugs. That could be long swim to the shore.

I figure it will not have much idle time so plugs should be fine....I see that even at idle I have very little smoke?...sad thing is this ski has low use...just sat to long..... I think I put tcw3 in the injection tank.....along with seea doo oil? yikes! sould I drain the tank... I mixed maybe a quart at best........I still will be pumping at idle....think it will hurt it if I don't change it out? thanks again tom

just a update.......mixed oil 40 to 1 left pump hooked up rode ski all day never a miss or fouled plug!.... I would however like to see what I need to do to get the tach and guages working....any ideas.I have no signs of life with any of the fuel temp tach etc...thx Tom

man west deptford...,such a long way from westville. i'm usually in margate, but a couple of times a year at beach hill. oh, your oil pump was pumping all the time, but it was only pumping enough to keep engine safe at idle. 100:1 or so.

small world right!....... that is what happened...only at idle......just goning to mix it for now I'll pull the pump over the winter...I went to quicksilver for the oil says it is approved for sea doo....hope it works!.........not at beach hil to often myself maybe a couple times a summer if we are home and bored........I assume you keep the boat in Margate aswell?......how is it for the ski's? I go to Avalon every year for a friends party usually take the boat...but last year brought the ski's...that place is a Zoo know wonder there are so many jetski accidents there those people are crazy...you need like 20 eyes to see what every nut is doing!....
