Hi, today I just put my Sea-Doo GSX 1996 back on water. It was in my garage for the past 4-5 years (lack of time to go have fun). I've been carefull, a tune-up has been made during the week to make sure everything was OK and the machanic told me it was.
So....today I've put the sea-doo in water, had fun for 20-25 minutes until I decided to go toward a big ship to take some waves. Just after the seconde wave (maybe a 2-3 feet jump) I've noticed a power loss. At the beginning the RPM (at full throttle) was about 5000 rpm but after the "small' jump, I was now erratic between 4000-4500 during 30 secondes then full time 4000 rpm for about 4-5 minutes. During that time it was clear that something was wrong, I had barely 40-50% less speed. Then the engine rpm dropped to 3500 (full throttle) but I was no longer moving so I drop the throttle to "idle" and the engine stopped. I started it back and then everything was fine like a brand new sea-doo.....5000 rpm..................for about 1 minutes then the same cycle came back....I've done the cycle for about 4-5 times to get back home
I suspect an electronic issue because as soon as I stop the engine and I start it back, everything is OK for almost 1 minute.
Any ideas or suggestion ? (before I drop the boat to Sea-doo dealership to get a wonderfull bill
)
Thanks guys !
