My 1996 GSX starts and idles fine, when you take off, it runs strong for about 5 seconds then acts like it chokes out or runs out of fuel. It will bog down and never get on plane. I rebuilt the carbs 2 years ago and am thinking about doing it again. Also have thought about the fuel lines and maybe they should be replaced. Does anyone have any ideas on what could be going on?

I think you might have already answered your own question on the fuel hoses if they are original factory hoses.

But there are other things to try http://seadooforum.com/showthread.php?t=5563

An easy one is to try running it in RES position on the fuel selector valve. If it runs any better than the normal ON position, the valve might be clogged.

Then you can take off the fuel selector valve and blow it out with carb cleaner and compressed air in all positions. (wear safety glasses - carb spray everywhere).

I will replace the lines and clean the selector valve and hope for the best. I will post results hopefully very soon!
