1996 GSX - buzzer and overheat warning light won't turn off

I just got a 1996 GSX, it started right up but the buzzer never turned off and overheat warning light was on. The jetski engine was cold, I did drive it around for a little bit, when I removed the key the buzzer would turn off. I did feel the engine and it still wasn't hot so I'm sure it's not really overheating. I also removed the wire from the sensor on the motor but as soon as I plug in the key the buzzer still sounds constantly and the light on the gauge is lit.

Does anyone have a remedy for my problem? I'm not very good with electrical systems and I'm assuming there is an issue with some sort of wiring, but not sure how to fix it, other than disconnecting the buzzer.

Appreciate any help!

Ok then your mpem is prob "bad". The gauges would stay on if it was the purple stuck on 12v+....so I'd guess your tan wire on the mpem is sending ground thru it when it's not supposed to be.

MPEM is the computer or basically the brain of the ski. Multi Purpose Electrical Module.
