1995 Sportster

I am looking at buying a 1995 sportster..Theguy is tellin me that it has a 787 in it...I have owned a 1996 sportster and it only had the 717 in it...Is there a diff.. in the two boats? Will all the parts from a 1996 fix on this 95?? Please someone help me... Thanx

Either the guy is ill informed or he's trying to put the screws to you. But, I don't see how you can own a boat and not know what your engine size is.

The 787 came out in 1995 with it's first model in the XP800. The Sportster for that year used the 657X model engine was more in tune with horsepower to the 717 than the standard model 657cc engine.

I had a 1996 sportster and it did have the 717....So the 1995 came with the 657 ? Will everything else work on the 1995..Is it the same boat as the 1996?

what type of "parts" are you referring to? The mpem, no...seats, yes.
