I just bought this bought and am a rookie with boats. Furthermore, it is a 2 stroke which i am unfamiliar with. I take it into the water and it smokes a lot. I get it running for a little bit and then it dies in the water when i throttle down to put it into neutral. what am i doing wrong? is something wrong with the boat?

1995 Sportster with 657x rotax

Well it might need the carbs cleaned. It might need to have it's gray Fuel lines replaced with new fuel lines. What compression does it have? it ideally should have 150 psi. If you need advise on checking it out let us know.
