Hello,
Anyone know who repairs the MPEM P/N 657-000-601. I saw the aftermarket list but this P/N was not listed?
Thank You

The person that was repairing MPEMs seems to have fallen off the face of the planet. My MPEM sat outside his door for 2 weeks before Fedex picked it back up. We ended up ponying up the cash for a new MPEM. Might also try calling Jim over at AZ Jet Ski in Phoenix and seeing if he can get his hands on a used MPEM for you.

MPEM or ECM...?

The reason yours wasn't listed is because you have an ECM (electronic control module) and not a MPEM.

The MPEM came out in 1996 and features the DESS (digital electronic security system).

The ECM gets it's power from the battery and is basically a rev limiter. It also has a timer delay in it to shut the power off after 33 seconds if you don't take off the safty lanyard or start the engine.

The MPEM has several functions. It receives and intreprets information, it distributes information, has the DESS system incorporated in it and also has the other functions of the Electronic module.

Depending on what manual you read, it's called the electronic module or multipurpose electronic module.

I see why your looking for a fix too. The thing cost over $1200 bucks. That's totally absurd. You'd think they would depreciate the price of the parts along with the ski's. Hell, if you bought one, the module would be worth more than the asking price of the ski........
