Hi and thanks for your help in advance!

I just bought a 95 speedster and I'm trying to figure out the issue.
1st - the neutral kill swith was making starting unreliable, so I had it disabled by a guy. I guess aligning to neutral was an issue, so this was an easy solution.
2nd - It was 'bogging' or somehow maxing out at 4k rpm. I was told carbs, so I had them taken apart, cleaned, sycnched, etc
3rd - I picked it up yesterdayand tried it out of the water and it would not go past 4k rpms at full throttle.(I know you can only run for a few mins out of the water)

So, I was reading on another thread that these have a rev limiter. I'm wondering ...
(a) if disabling the neutral kill switch may have this rev limiter permamnently engaged and ?
(b) Can I disable it?
(c) any other ideas??

Thanks again!

I'd have to look into it, but you do know when in neutral, the motor wont rev past 3500 or so (it's governed). There might be a problem with "removing" the neutral switch??
I'm not sure which it is, but surely a simple NC or NO switch...

Yes the rev limiter will now be permanently engaged. The only way you could remove the neutral switch would be to put a toggle switch in its place on the dash. One position for start, and one for run.

If it were mine I would try to find a new switch and fix it right. Other than that use a toggle switch on the dash like I mentioned above. I notice SeaDooWarehouse.com shows the part, but no price beside it, so it may be discontinued. Might want to have a look at ebay.

Thank you for the help. I'm not sure it's the switch that's the problem. It seems like it's the throttle not lining up , but maybe it is the switch after all.
I'll see if I can find one.

It could also be a shifter adjustment. Pull your controls out and have a look. Something may be worn, or out of adjustment.
