I just bought a 95 Seadoo sportster and noticed an unplugged wire in the engiine bay on the stern just hanging down. wondering what it may be, I cant find the other plug anywhere.
Also this boat was converted to a 2 cycle engine due to pump failure. Do you have any advice on how to keep this motor in good shape. Is it even ok to have it made into a 2 cycle? Im new to this whole seadoo jet boat business so any feed back would be great.
Also this thing doesnt have a speedometer, just a cap with rubber around it that says seadoo on it. I looked under the storage container and it had 5 plugs unused in there. Do you think i could just hook one up? Or is this model of boat not meant to have a speedometer and is not equipped with the spinning paddle to tell speed? Thanks

It's always been a 2 stroke. Can't convert a 4 stroke to a 2 stroke. Or vice versa. Could be anything. Can you post a pic of it?

I meant to say the gas is 2 cycle now. They said the oil pump went bad so now you mix the oil with the gas manually. Is that ok to just continue to run the boat like that? Or should I get an oil pump to put back in there to make it like it once was? The engine is a single 657x.
Its been winterized and how do i dewinterize.

Gotcha. You can still run it premixed as long as you keep the ratio right. As far as what's better??... Premixed or injection...
This debate is as old as the chicken or the egg..
I'm gonna take the Switzerland stance on it..

The wires hanging by the transom are for some of the "Options" you could buy at the dealer. Most likely, it is for the Speedometer option. That wire would hook to the sender, and the gauge would have gone into the hole in the hood.

It could have also been used for the depth finder.

How do I de-winterize this boat? I have the small water hose that hooks onto the boat in the storage bay, but where do I go from there?
