1995 seadoo speedster engine problem?

My 95 speedster has 2 650 engines. last fall i took it out for one last run and all of a sudden one engine cut out... then came back on then the other engine started cuting in and out. it was like a light switch (power no power power no power) so i took it to a shop this spring and the guy looked over the engines and acording to him they are sound. Any ideas as to what it might be would be very helpful.

Was it surging... or was it actually dieing? (like someone pushed the kill switch)

surging, sort of is if you were on and off the throttle

Either your fuel select valve is leaking... or the carbs just need a good cleaning.

And you believe those 2 issues could cause these symptoms all of a sudden like this? The reason i ask is that it never has even given a hickup till that day and it was all a sudden.

It's a fuel issue.

Could you tell me where the fuel select valve is located? i have the shop manual with me but i cant seen to find refrence to it.

always best to check the simple (sort of) cheap things before you just jump to the most expensive (mpem) to fix a problem.
