Take a flat blade screwdriver under the flange of the rivet, gently pry out. While doing that try unscrewing the screw in the rivet.

Yes, it should go forward while idling

Ok it ran great for five minutes. Then wife rode for five minutes said ot started to bog down. Jumped on it ran fine for another 5 min then was bogging and trying to die then finally died. Had to wait a minute then it started again and ran but kept bogging and dieing. Now i think battery is dead from restarting so much and it just gives a single click when pressing start. I am charging battery. Any suggestions? Not sure where to start. After it sits it will run for a minutes then die.

Ok battery is fully charged it doesn't start. It also doesn't click or make any noises from starter or flywheel

It was a loose wire, it runs perfectly now or seems too. I am posting a bunch of pictures i took incase somebody needs them for reference after taking one of thses apart.

Some things i learned that cost me big problems.

1) when removing carb bolts if they are hard to budge don't risk it. Soak with break free then remove. Make your own break free with a mixture of antifreeze and and acetone 50% each. Put in a squirt bottle it works better than store bought. I broke off 2 bolt on carb that broke into the oil intake housing that cost me big time. If it happens remove intake with carbs attachedand drill out on press and the tap and die if you screw it up.

2) take a video of all hose and cable connections. I could count the threads on the cable so then when i put carbs back on i could watch vid and set it back to what it was.

3) have an angle telescopic magnet ready because when u drop something your screwed it a black hole in the engine bay eats everything you drop.

4) have medications ready.. whiskey, pot, beer whatever because its frustrating trying to get your tools and hand to reach around to unbolt certain pieces. Enougb where a beer break becomes neccessary to keeo your sanity.

It wont let me post most of the videos because they are too big. pm me if anyone needs them.

Yes i did that first... i have a problem now where it runs good then anything above 1/2 throttle it starts to stutter and can not reach top speed. Any idea why?

It acts like its hitting a rev limiter after half throttle. But run fine and doesn't die it will just keep stuttering past half throttle

I took the rectifier out of the other seadoo and it didnt work. I also disconnected the red wire to rectifier and it ran worse. Any other suggestions i appreciate all the help.. when i rebuilt carb i didn't replace jets because the carb kit didnt come with them wondering before i goto carbs again if there is something else i can try. We live on a weedy lake and im also wondering if it would do this if something got sucked into the water intake. The hose in back is clear of debris so i feel its doubtful

I also did not replace the fuel on / off knob. There was a bunch of gunk in fuel lines and maybe there was some in that valve.. but it runs great besides hitting the rev limiter type problem. So dont think its carb related

I tested it out of water and same problem so it must not be drivetrain , impeller problem. I attached a picture of the wire connector in between the spark plugs. Its very loose could this be the problem?

No, that’s the temp sensor but has nothing to do with running.

I would replace the fuel selector and strainer. Did you use genuine Mikuni kits and new needle and seats? Also don’t use the new springs in the kits.

Still have same problem i even checked carbs and the filters in carb were clean too. I didnt do new needles and seats. But it ran great. I thought maybe spark plugs even though they are new. Tomorrow i will get plugs and see what happens then do the computer. One of the carbs has a striped screw that hold on the plate to get to jets so i haven't messed with it.

Well i guess i will take off carbs again and try to get that screw out thats stripped so i can check jets. I cant figure out why it ran great and then my buddy rode it and the last time he fell off it immediately had this problem at startup. Before i take off carbs is there any other suggestions? I noticed today that its backfiring badly at full throttle also which is now leading me back to carbs.

Do you guys think it could be a stator or flywheel problem? If so do you have a link on a post showing how to remove and adjust timing
