Hi I have 95 gtx that I just replaced the wear ring in. When I pulled the pump out it was siliconed in. After fixing the wear ring I did not silicone the pump back on to the boat.my question is could this. Cause my bout to be taking on this water in the engine compartment. If not how does the bilge system work on these boats or is there anything common on these skis to go. Please help!!!!

in the pump, there are 2 short tubes hanging down in the back. When there is water moving past them, it will draw water out of the bilge. If those tubes are missing... it will push water back into the hull. If, you blocked the holes while putting the pump back on... it won't draw water up either.

You may want to take the pump off, and check it out.

Thanks for the advice. Is the pump suppose to be siliconed on to the boat. I'm going to tear the pump off today.

No. It is not supposed to be glued to the pump shoe. There is a round neoprene gasket that should be there. It makes checking things much easier. One side is a "Peel and stick" and it goes to the shoe, to hold it in place.

The only place you put a little RTV is around the main water feed pipe. (top left corner, when sitting behind the hull)

Ok thank you again. I'm not to sure if there is a gasket there or not. When I first took the pump off it was glued on. Possibly the owner before did work on the pump. When I take it apart today I will look for the gasket. If the gasket is missing can I only purchase through seadoo?

Ok so took the pump off. Checked everything over and was told the reaon why I'm taking on so much water is because I'm suppose to silicone the jet pump back ob the hull. I called a local seadoo specialists on this. I'm going to let the silicone dty and try it out tomorrow. I will keep you updated. Hoping it fixed it

forgot to add in when i pull the drain plug to empty out the engine compartment. the water is pretty warm. so now im starting to think its possibly a line. but with the engine being right there could that heat up the water enough. im putting it in the water tomorrow to try and see if it was just the pump needing to be sealed. i got my fingers crossed

ok guys and gals. took the ski to the water and found the problem. there is a bolt missing from the top of the tuner pipe. causing one of the corners of the top tuner pipe to leak tremendously. got another bolt for the pipe now and the hull is bone dry. as well after siliconing the jet pump to the boat it has better acceleration as well as more speed in general. gained almost 5 mph out on the water today. :hurray:
