Hello i am having a issue with my 1995 GTX overheating at idle, when i rev it up a little or during normal operating conditions i don't have this problem, if its hooked up to the hose i also don't have this problem, i was wondering if the problem could be the Jet Pump, any feedback would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Ahha, could be the cooling system partially blocked. Idle water pressure in the jet pump isn't enough to push enough water through.
I am just guessing. A few days ago, weeds jammed in my water intake, over heat alarm went off on my boat.

When idling, did you check water coming out at the tow hook?
Probably just dripping?

i checked for blockage blew out water lines, also if i remove the water inlet line from the jet pump and i hooked that to a hose and didn't over heat

That make sense. Tap water has 60PSI which is enough to provide the water flow to cool. But if your cooling system after the engine water intake is not moving smoothly, then it will overheat.

Other experts here will guide you through how to trace down where is the blockage.

You could also have your idle too low causing a lack of cooling water flow. Have you checked it with a tachometer?

no didn't check with a tachometer because i don't have one but i did turn the idle up because this did seem to help a little, but still does over heat at idle sometimes
