1994 xp questions

I bought a 94 xp and was wondering if it should always be in forward gear when you start it. Does it have a neutral? On both sides of it there is a round turn knob. The right one i know is the fuel select, but what is the other one? Does this have to do something with the drive?

thats your "choke/primer" knob...Dont thinmk they incorporated a "reverse' yet, in that year..

That is the variable trim system (VTS) on the handle. Not reverse.

That's the VTS assembly.. It has a small green indicator to show you if the trim is up or down.

Also the 94 xp does not have reverse.

Yea there is no reverse on that year XP.
