1994 gtx - starting problems

I am working on my roommates jetski, have experience with motorcycles and some on cars.

So far the only problem I can confirm is dead battery, he said it runs when you spray carb cleaner into the intake during startup but then dies...

He also said the likely problem is carbs need to be cleaned or possibly rebuilt, since that is apparently what fixed it last time(although it looks like these carbs were never taken apart or off the block). It really looks like I can't take the carbs off without taking off the entire engine, I have pics if anyone wants to confirm this...

So I sprayed a copious amount of carb cleaner in there, gave it time to evaporate and put it back together. I'm recharging the battery, and turned up the idle on both carbs a bit for good measure. Any other suggestions before I hook up the water to the jetski and try starting it tomorrow? I hope someone with a similar jetski can give me some insight into working on this one, it is my first time working on one, and I'm just working with manuals... Thanks to everyone who responds!

The carbs will need to be disassembled, and cleaned properly. They get plugged up, the diaphragms can get hard, and the check valves in the pump can stop sealing.

Buy a rebuild kit, and have at it.

If you are looking at grey fuel lines, they internally deteriorate. Fuel selector needs
cleaned or replaced (use Plastic one). Gas goes bad in 3-4 weeks.
