1992 xp bombardier oil injec.

just bought my first jet ski
title says what it is. its pritty rought but sounds good i was told it had the oiler removed but the hose is still hooked from the tank to the motor i just mixed one gallon gas today to try to see if it would run sounds great but it smokes alot i just dont know about the oil sys. how do it know if it is un hooked or what i would rather it be un hooked form what ppl i talk to say but i dont really care just long as it is getting oil you know any help would be nice

Hi,

The oil pump is located on the right side, lower center of the block, under the carbs., there are several small hoses from the oil pump. When not using the oil pump this is usually blocked off. When not using the oil injection, there is a oil tube that needs to be left connected to provide lubrication to the rotary valve.

As far as the smoking goes, your ski will always smoke because it is a 2 stroke, once on the water and at cruising speed the smoke should hardly be noticable.

What ratio did you mix the oil with the gas? I think your ski should be 40:1. The problem is, if you are like me, you tend to use a little too much oil. This is why I like to use oil injection. Its also kind of a hassle to mix the oil with the gas, our marina doesn't sell premix, and even if they did it wouldn't be PWC oil.

If it sat a long time oil is going to get past the RV seals and into the crank case. Once it gets blown/burnt out it wont smoke so bad.

I would highly recommend going thru the carbs and replacing the fuel lines.

i had it mixed 40 to 1
i have stated a few tims now just a few sec just to kinda see how it runs
i seams to run really good
so there should be a hose going from tank to block
i will try to take pic tomarow to confirm that it looks right
i do not mind mix my brother has 2 an thats what he dose we just take fuel with us to the lake he says he only burns about 5 gal. a day when he gose

ok so i took of breather so i could see the pump an lines still on the motor but it looks like a linkage has been removed what should i do is there a way i can test the pump or should i just buy a block of kit (if there is one) and pre mix i dont mind the premix i only going to get to ride few hours a week.
