1992 sea doo xp dies while running

I have a 1992 sea doo xp that starts up great, runs for around 1 min to 4 mins, then dies. It starts right back up and runs for 20 secs to 1 min, then dies again?

The only thing I did was changed was the fuel sensor baffle because the fuel gauge wasn't working when i bought it ( 2 years ago). Not sure if that has something to do with it or its just coincidence.

Thanks

Remove the fuel baffle and poke some bigger holes in the screen. I fought 2 skis with this problem. I guess the screen over the years gets corroded and the holes get smaller. My XP would die just like yours is doing depending on how long I held the throttle wide open. If I ran at half throttle the ski was fine. When I ran it hard it would kill in dang near the same location of my run. I'll be 2 minutes at most. Then the baffle would fill back up with fuel and the ski would be fine. I even replaced the screen at the bottom of the baffle with a larger mesh but that gave me problems as well. Very strange but that's two skis.

Just as an observation... watch your fuel gauge if it is working and see if it flashing low fuel even though you have a good amount of fuel in the tank. That's one of the problems that clinched it for me. The engine was draining the fuel faster than it could flow through the baffle.
