Hey all,

I'm new to the seadoo world and any advice would be awesome. I was given a 1992 GTX that is kinda turning into a project. Currently I can't get the engine to fire off the ignition. I just had the starter professionally rebuilt and my battery has plenty of power. When i hit the ignition i get nothing at all. As soon as I cross the solenoid the engine starts to fire. How do I know weither this is in the ignition or the solenoid and how do i go about testing each. Also how in the world do you take the carbs off of this engine those 2 nuts on each carb are almost impossible to get to.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Lastly this ski has not run since 2005 i put all new fuel line in it, am going to clean carbs before I start it, i drained and cleaned the fuel tank, put the rebuilt stater in, and put a little oil in each cyclinder and turned it over by hand and everything moves freely. Is there anything else i should do before i try to start my new toy?

Thanks again

Is the starter switch bad? Before I run an engine thats sat for a while, I always put some oil in the spark plug holes and roll it over. Ive also taken the intakes off and fired engine fog into the carbs with them WOT so it gets a nice amount of oil onto the crank and all the bearings too. It never hurts. better to be safe then rebuild.
