1990 wont start

Bought an old 1990 Seadoo- had been converted to one carb/mix your own gas. Anyway all was well first trip drove about a mile. Turned back to the dock, throttled down and it stalled and hasn't run since.

Seems to be good spart, plugs come out damp.. When I run the starter with the plugs out and blow out the smoke, put them back in, it runs every time for about 3 seconds then stops and wont restart.

Any ideas???

It was converted to pre-mix. OK.

Is there still an oil tank in it? Is there oil in it?

took the hose off the carb from the fuel pump and gas is pumped out when I turn it over. Is there any way that the timing slipped out suddenly or could it be somehow flooding itself?

Yes. The timing is going to be your problem. But not from the ignition.

When you convert that engine to pre-mix... you need to leave the tank in the hull, and there needs to be some oil in it. The reason is... there are a set of gears in the center of the crankcase, that spin the rotary valve. If there isn't any oil in the tank... those gears ran dry, and they probably ate them selves.

Pop the carb off, and check to see if the rotary valve is spinning. (I bet it isn't)

Looks like you are right- I can touch one valve inside and it doesn't seem to move when I turn over the shaft? Now what?
