okay this is my 5th post on this problem i hope someone will please try and guide me here.i have a 1990 gt i bought a few months ago.it sat for 2 years but still ras sluggish.i drained the fuel tank and cleaned the fuel filter,put new plugs in it and she fired rite up.now it will start and run all day in the driveway with a hose attached and will start and run perfect on the first ride of the day but as soon as we bring it in for a break or to change riders or what ever reason it does not want to start back up.it will usually after about 15-20 minutes of constant cranking with the throttle wide open it will start to caugh a lil then fire up and be fine till we kill it again.it is taking on some water where the impeller shaft goes through the hull but i dont think it is enough to cause a start issue?someone please tell me if i am overlooking something simple or severe this is my first watercraft i am mechanicaly inclined but this is new water to me.thanks in advance for any help

pull the carbs, and tear thru them. Also, inspect the bearing seal carrier (black tube behind engine, under the grey shield) could be leak'n trhere.

if the ski is leaking in the fuelsolage by the pump yuo maybe getting too much water which eventually hit the motor which will hit the stator which will kill spark.

Hey is the fuel pump working
:cheers:I am by no way a rocket scientist or speller but what kind of fuel pump do you have?
And what do the spark plugs look like after the first run if they are very light or yellow then it is running lean and starving for fuel witch means your fuel pump mite be going bad if it is a vacume pump then look at the blader to see if it has a hole or rip. this is very comon and if it is electric then check the psi at the carb. I do not think it is a seal or water just something very simple. Hope this helps:hurray:

my 92s are doing this exact thing, did you figure it out, its almost like their flooded w/fuel... im going to try turning off the gas before i shut the engine off...
