Hey everyone, I recently just got a Seadoo SP. The guy was giving it away said there is no spark.

I am new to PWCs so I am not familiar with them at all so I am learning. All the help and tips are greatly appreciated!

I was able to get it to crank over with no plugs in. Barely would crank over with one plug in, and with both plugs it would dead stop. So I am figuring I am going to need a new starter. But as it was cranking over with out the plugs in I was able it to get a faint spark. All the fuses are good.

What I am wondering is that I know these have a kill system with the safety switch. But do I need a "key" for this year?

Could someone tell me what this is for? Right side of handlebars near throttle?

Also, The button on the left is the starter switch correct? And the one on the right of it is the rider safety switch, or whatever its called?

And is the red switch on the left handlebar the kill switch?

Also for the starter, would it better to get it rebuilt or buy a new one?
I found one from SBT that says its high torque, is that brand any good?

Thanks in advance for the help!

The thing in your first pics is the beeper. As for the starter I would get a OEM rebuild kit for it.

Ok the beeper so I don't need to worry about that. I did a google search for a starter rebuild kit and really didn't find anything OEM or even a rebuild kit itself.

Where would be the best place to check for parts for my seadoo?

Not Looking to bump the thread, But after doing alot of reading here on posts. And being able to find a parts list with description.

I was able to get the answers to my questions. :) So im good to go on all that.

And found a Brush kit for the starter. Also a carb rebuild kit. And from reading here, Mikuni is what you want to buy? Is $72 for the carb kit a good price?

My plans are to get the starter working and replace the starter solenoid. And see if she will start and run. Then rebuild everything I need from there.

Well, Ive had more time to work on the seadoo. Rebuilt starter and had to replace the cables from the battery and starter to solenoid. Also replaced the solenoid.

If I press the start switch I don't get any cranking or anything. If I cross over the solenoid cranks but no spark. From reading it could be the start/stop switch or the tether switch? I have a feeling that some reason the electrical system isn't getting power.

Where is the best place to start? Replace the MPEM?

And where does this wire go? There isnt anything plugged into it?
