130hp motor idle RPM

what should my GTI 130 be idling at? It seems to idle at around 1700 but I thought I read where it should be idling less than that.

BTW-- getting these things to sit still in the water with the motor running is IMPOSSIBLE. I wish the neutral position had a 'stop' on it so u could pull up into neutral and it would stay there.

I cant say for sure untill I look at it again, but I think mine idles right around that give or take a 100.

Yea as far as I am concerned there is no neutral. lol

Just got a 2009 GTI 130 last week and also noticed a fairly high idle. Right at 1700rpm.

talked to my service guy when I picked it up after my 10 hour service. Apparently high idle is the new trend. He doesnt it notice it much because he rides an RXT-Xis

I have a 2008 GTI SE 130 it the idle is never stable, it bounces up and down about 100 rpm's, is this normal on a ski?

I have a brand new '12 GTi and it idles at 1600. You should be fine.
