12 mph less than last season

I have a 1998 GSX LTD with the 947 engine, I noticed yesterday after a 6 month lay off that my ski was only getting to 6350 max rpm and that my speed was 12mph down? I did in the off season put on a work sponsons and intake grill?

Could this have anything to do with it? Also I am at high altitude so I dont expect 7200 rpm but surely it should be more that 6300 rpm?

Could it be fuel or rave valves?

Any advice would be appreciated?

I would start with servicing the Raves. If it doesnt change I would put the other intake back on and re-test it.

I always start with the easy cheap stuff first. Got good gas in there and did you put in new plugs?
