Hi, I just did the winterizing on my ski. Noticed quite a bit of oil on the output side of the intercooler. Cleaned it out, but noticed the oil in the crank is low. I suspect a problem in the SC. Has anybody have any ideas? Also I noticed in the service manual to use air to blow out the excess water for winter storage. I've made up the hose, and am assuming the engine dosen't have to be started to run the air through it... Is this correct?. Thanks

I have never actually witnessed anyone use compressed air for winterization. I have been winterizing my jet ski's for about 10 years now and have always just flushed with Antifreeze. If you get antifreeze up in every area you will be fine. There are alot of threads on winterization, you could spend 8 hours winterizing one ski but most of it is overkill.

After many seasons, i would just recomend fogging the cylinders, changing the oil, and flushing with antifreeze. Never had any issues or have seen others with freeze damage that have done it that way.

On the 09 seadoo's with a Super Charger its recommended you use compressed air to winterize them. In my signature is a link to 4-tec's for winterizing. Go check it out.

Frustrated and Pissed!!

I would have the dealer do it and ask them if its normal and what they do. I'm sure your are still under warranty if a problem exists.

Has anyone had problems with the supercharger hose coming off. I am about to file a lemon law claim on my new 2008 RXP X if it isn't fixed for the 7th time. This thing has more miles on the trailer to the dealership than in the frickin water. I have 28 hours on it and the hose has come off 6 different times, SUCKS!! All riding done in calm water.

I think the dealership is to blame but they keep putting it on and resecuring it. I was told the factory puts lube in the hose to ease the fit. However, Seadoo finally agreed to replace the hose and it is now installed with cold weather knocking on my door. The dealership says they wiped all lube out of the hoses and put a sealer on the new hose.

Any thoughts or suggestions or similar problems? I am not happy with this problem or Seadoo>>>>

The service manual recommends the air pressure to drain the water. They show how to make up the hose and you hook it up to the fresh water flush. I did this, then pulled the hoses off to check for any residue water and there was none. Then they recommend pulling out the intercooler as there may be some condensation in there on the dry side. Stood the cooler on end for 30 minutes as noted....all is dry. Seems simple enough....but on the dry side is where I had alot of oil sitting. Any ideas how to clean the oil out? Just use solvent? They caution you not to use solvents on the wet side to clean.
