Picking up a 08 rxp x on Thursday 56 hours on it.How do I know if it has steel washers in super charger?Anything else to check?

'08's were supposed to have upgraded washers in the oem assembly. Doesn't mean you aren't due for a rebuild.

You don't know,,,

As stated, 08 is suppose to have metal washers but some did make it out with ceramic washers.

Seadoo may be ae to tell you with your HIN.

I will have to try with a dealer.Is it hard to change washers?Is it very difficult to rebuild super charger?I am mechanically inclined.Is there anything else to check?With only 56 hours on it I will only put maybe 30 on it.Do you think it should be fine for this summer and rebuild this winter as it will still be under 100 hours?Thanks for replies

Even with metal washers that supercharger is due for a rebuild after 5 years.

Who is jerry I couldn't find him in search on forums about supercharger? Should I buy kit and do myself? who do you guys recomend to buy kit from.

It doesn't really matter where you buy a kit from as long as its the updated one. Pricing seems to be pretty much the same across the board from what I have seen. To do it yourself you need some specialty tools. I think PWCMUSCLE carries them. Check their site or give them a call. Good people to deal with.

Did buy it yesterday.Going to look try it by sunday can't wait.Guy I bought it from will take it back if it doesn't hit 8000 rpm.There was no were to try it he lived in city.Real nice guy so I took his word.Going to rebuild supercharger myself.What is diference in 08 rebuild kit and 11 up rebuild kit?I want to order but PWCMUSCLE is out of stock on newer kit.should I run it till they get newer kit in or go with o8 kit?

Also he did not have any manuals for it.He lost them when he moved.Were can I get owners manual?Is there a service manual here I can down load?

Get the newer kit. Send JoeZ a PM and ask him when he expects the newer kits to be back in stock.

Oil on top of motor and all over throttle body. have not heard back from guy to see if he put heavy oil on it for storage. is this a spot they blow oil if something is wrong?

Found out he sprayed it with heavy anti corrosion oil for storage

Yea that's the stuff that gets sprayed in the motor not on it

Nope not fogging oil.... anti corrosion oil fights rust and pitting.if you put that in your motor you would be changing plugs and have mess on your hands.

I don't see the need for that unless you somehow managed to get salt water inside the hull. Has the ski been in salt water?

Yes last owner put 6 hours in salt water flushed and washed after every ride.it is clean saw guys house and toys very meticulous.
