07 SeaDoo GTI - Solenoid under load

Well I've made the leap to the 4 Strokes, well I'm trying to! I have a 07 GTI and have an issue with the solenoid. When I meter the Battery side I have a Strong 12V (New Battery), and when I meter (On start) on the starter side I get 0 Volts. However if I remove the starter cable off the solenoid, and try it I get a full 12V again. I have never come across this issue before. I have had it 12 hours now and getting to know it. It was very damp inside since it had been sitting outside and neglected for 2 years. Thank You for any help!

Note: When I insert the key I get a strong 2 beeps, then after two attempts and the solenoid "Clicking" it goes to 4 beeps. Still "Clicks" but beeps 4 times over and over

If you get 0 volts it means the battery is not charged or it is no good, standing voltage should be around 12.8 when new.

Thank You. The Battery is Brand New, and just installed. I have 12V at the battery side of the Solenoid, and with the starter cable off I get 12v on the starter side of the solenoid. However when I put the cable back on the starter side of the solenoid and try it, i get 0

strange, have you r/red the starter to be sure it is not too corroded and not grounding? Possibly the solenoid is broken internally and torqueing the nut separated the contact? I would try bridging/jumping the solenoid and see what happens, of nothing happens then start looking at the cable from the solenoid to starter and starter itself.

Yes, gets even stranger! I jumped the solenoid. TIP: Use the claw end of a hammer, works perfect, too tight for a screw driver. To my excitement the starter turned the engine. I took both cables off, cleaned them and put them back on with the same issue. The solenoid is working (Without load) but once I connect it all back up nothing on the starter side of the solenoid......no idea.....

one of two things. most likely the solenoid is junk and corroded internally, or possible your signal to the solenoid is weak. My gut says #1 replace the solenoid.

SOLVED! It was the solenoid. In all my years I've never seen a solenoid do that! Well now I can pass on the knowledge a little! Damn thing has been sitting in the woods for 3 years. New Battery / Plugs / and now Solenoid and it fired up on the first time and idles strong. Now just need the steering cable and I'll water test it hopefully this weekend

well that's good. easy fix. Had to be a corroded bad connection internally, as soon as it called for amperage it quit.

Yeah Great Call. Now I just cleaned it up, it was UGLY! Posted photos in the "Non Seadoo" section of the before and after! Really thrilled. Paid $700 with Trailer and Title, and she's now up and running. I pick up the steering cable tomorrow and "light" water test tomorrow afternoon. If all looks good I will go thru it all deeper! Thanks again for the advice.
