I have a 06 rxp sc. And took it out and it ran good for about 20 min then it just stoped running. It would turn over but no crank. So took it to dealer and they said it jumped timeing. There is a plastic cover on the timeing chain side of head that they said broke and caused it to jump timeing. The stuff has been replaced and is running again but with a nice price tag. Of over 1800 in parts and labor. But my question is what would have make the plastic cover break and do what it did? It looked like it was melted. A bit. Ski only has 25 hours on it.

I have a 06 motor sitting beside me and i cant seem to figure out what plastic cover your talking about???

here is the iso from parts book i had to replace 22 - 24 21 20 18 19 all of this in side broke and is what caused the timeing to jump i got lucky i guess that is all that happen i was just wanting to know why just why did this happen do i need to worrie about it doing it again if so its for sell now lol http://partsfinder.onlinemicrofiche.com/Alba/Seadoo_oem/Seadoo_PWC.asp?Type=13&A=139&B=4

i dont think you need to worry this is not a comon problem, 1st time ive head of it. Witch part is the cause of the problem #20???

yes from what the dealer told me it is what got between the timeing chain and made it jump time no clue why it did it but it did the thing looked like it got hot but nothing showed to be running hot
