when plug in the lanyard I get sensor and then maintanence message briefly. when I tried to start i get clicks on a good battery. I had changed out the starter relay, it did not help. I jump the two post it started. what can i use to scan for error message?

VCK (vehicle communication kit)

You need to see if you can read that message you are receiving. It seems you may have a simple sensor error. Either the wire is off or grounded. The sensor could be bad.

Which means, if you continue to start it in that way, by-passing the need for that sensor to make an adjustment to your ignition or fuel system, eventually you'll be paying out a lot more money for the engine damage than what the sensor would have cost to replace it.

Look over all your sensors, air temp sensor, heat, ambient air.....a lot of these are in plain site. See if a wire is dangling off.....

thanks for the reply, I will check it again when I get a chance to go back there. Let assume that is not the case what else can I do or check for? Is there a scanner like odbii for the car that I can use?

thanks

put the lanyard on and press set 5 times, it should give you a code. tell us what that is. it will be in the PXXXX format.

To fully diagnose in depth, you will need a BUDS system with a VCK as referenced above. It is a dealer only software communication tool, I have one. Where are you located?

Thank You for the reply I will try that, unfortunatly the seadoo is in Lake Havasu on the California side with no mechanic shop around and 4 hours away from my house.
