Hi guys,

Recently got a seadoo XPDI 2004 model. its had a few issues but nothing that i haven't been able to fix.

Started her up about 2 weeks ago on the trailer, started and ran fine - but when i dropped her in the water yesterday the engine wouldn't even turn. The only thing i've done since was top the oil up (it was showing low oil level on the instrument) besides that nothing changed.

I opened up the engine bay and can hear a kind of grinding noise coming from the electrical box, opened that up but i am not able to identify which component it is. I believe its the brown part that links the ingnition leads and earth but i can't be sure.

I've checked all the fuses (including the ones in the electrical box) and the battery is pretty new and has charge.

Any ideas would be a great starting point. Thanks

I would try a fully charged battery. The sound you were hearing was probably from the stator clicking. You wouldnt beleive how much water resistance has while starting the engine.

hooked the battery up to the car and it started!
so went down and bought a new battery, which sucks but great it was an easy fix. thanks heaps!

No problem, Glad we could help. Make sure you get the right battery (amps) If you ever have to jump start the seadoo with a car batt, make sure the host's engine isnt running, as you will fry the electronics. Instead of 12-13V (normal), you'll be putting 14-15V into the seadoo!
