I see there is a wire on the inlet side of the battery switch where the incomming battery cable attaches. This means power from the battery is feeding something when the battery switch is turned off. Any idea what this wire feeds. So the battery switch does not completely isolate the battery after all does it?

This wire is part of the original wiring harness. It came this way from the factory. I checked all the accessories, lights, bildge, etc and nothing. Maybe it has something to do with the ECU's?

im guessing the auto feature on the bilge pump. Did you add water and try to get the pump to kick on with the switch off.

RFoster's suggestion may ID your extra wire. many of the more recent gen boats have the auto float switch on the bilge hard wired to the battery. in these cases the helm bilge switch won't work if the battery switch is off, but the auto float will.

theory being it is better to drain bilge water and the battery if need be to help delay or prevent a sunk boat.
