Greetings

I have an 04 GTX 4tec. with the key in place i get no sound and no instrument panel power.

Battery has good voltage and testing has been done with charger on the battery.

I cleaned the ground wires, checked the fuses and the DESS., all checked good.

Thanks in advanced for suggestions

Jerry

Jerry, this happens to my Friday ski all the time. With both seats removed, leave the lanyard on the DESS post and wiggle the two electrical connectors on the M.P.E.M. The '04s still have an M.P.E.M. right? You may hear a relay (or two) click. Then you will hear the double beep, and the information center will come to life. If you're experiencing the same situation that I have, disconnect those connectors and spray them with Dexoit.

Cheers!

thanks for quick reply
no luck, did notice only 11 volts at starter solenoid with charger connected. will leave charge on over night and check in the AM. maybe it is the battery

any idea what wires carry power to the DESS to check voltage
I had only check with my resistance earlier

Battery MUST be load tested,, anything else is a waste of time.

Plus, you should not put a charger in a Sea Doo. Anything over 2.5 amps can cause serious damage to the MPEM. Which is an expensive part. I am betting that the battery is bad...

You have to have at least 12.5 volts static , not running. Running should be at least 13.5 to 14.5. If battery checks out check your stator. You can get Repair Manuals off Internet. They have repair and testing procedures. They should tell you how many and where fuses are. Most times all you need is a VOM. Check all your junction plugs in wire harness. Moisture can get in and cause problems. The DESS posts and keys rarely fail.
