Newbie here.....looking for some help on my 2004 GTX 4-tec Supercharged. When the PWC is cold and first placed in the water, it takes a good ten minutes to warm up. It starts up easily, idles well, but when you reach about 3000 RPM, the oil light blinks, I hear a single beep and the engine returns to rough idle. To clear it, I have to shut if off, remove the lanyard and then restart. I do this several times and I have no acceleration through this process. If it idles for ten minutes, it warms up and runs great the rest of the day. Any help would be appreciated.

How many hr's on it? and i assume youve check the oil and its good. First thing id start with are the spark plugs there about $3 each. Put new ones in ans see if that helps you problem.

Oil light

SeaDoo had problems with the engine oil pressure switches and came out with updated switches to correct this problem. Updated switch part no. 420 256 885 is located in the front of the engine, up high, by the oil fill cap. Updated switch part no. 420 856 530 is located on the right side of the engine towards the rear. They cost about $25.00 each. I give this advice assuming your engine is mechanically sound and has the proper oil and oil filter. Engine oil that is way too "thick" or a clogged oil filter will also cause this problem.

Thanks for the comments. I have 88 hours on the engine and have been faithful with annual service appointments that have included oil changes. The oil pressure switches may be something to check -- thank you.
