I read that I can go to auto parts store and use any 10w40 oil for my oil change. But when I search for the sea doo oil it’s 5w40. Why is this? I have to change my oil a few times because I have “milky” oil in the machine due to water in the cylinders. Also, if I’m going to change the oil a few times, Should I also change the filter every time or can I just wait till it’s complete to put a fresh filter in. Can someone please help to clarify this for me. Thanks!

Use SeaDoo/ XPS Lubricants oil ONLY. It is recommended/ it is industry standard that you change the filter and o-rings each time you do an oil change.

I’ll provide a link to an oil forum where I asked if I could use regular/ cheaper synthetic oil a few months ago, folks got very opinionated/ heated.

New season, new guys and new oil questions...
Horse is beaten to dead, use search function :)

p.s. You read wrong things, start with reading the instruction manual and follow Seadoo's guidelines, more chance your PWC will not break down.
Maybe it is just me, but I would first find where the water is coming from.
