Can someone please help me with the oil change procedure? dealer wants 140.00 to change the oil.. Is this something that is pretty simple to do in the back yard ? Is there a sticky on this ?

Dang, thats cheap, my dealer wanted $225. You can change it yourself. You need an evacuater to suck the oil out of the filler tube. Thats a one time expense of aound 50-70 bucks. depending on what type you buy. Then just buy a maintenaance kit from the dealer. (filter, orings, oil, plugs). takes maybe 30-45 minutes. oh , when you buy the maint kit it comes with directions.

Thank you.. Another question. We left the ski in the water for a couple of weeks at the lake house. Went down to our landing to find the back end nearly under water. took the seats off and found the engine bay was 3/4 full of water !! WTF ? whats the cause of this.. someone stated maybe a cooling hose has a hole in it leading to water filling up the engine bay ? didnt crank it.. pulled it on to the trailer and let the plugs out..any ideas ??

could be numerous things. might be the carbon ring on drive shaft, cooling hose. you can try putting on the trailer and dumping water in the hull. see if it leaks anywhere

What are the maximum number of days you should leave a jet ski in the water assuming it is fresh water?

they are really not meant to be left sitting in the water. I have a lift for my 2 skis. Everybody will tell you different. Some guys will put in a bilge pump with a float switch to pump out the hull if the ski is sitting in water all the time. I used to chase water leaks on my 99 GTX. i finally said the heck with it and got a lift.

Thanks for the help guys.. This thing barely has a scrtach on it and you would think it was 30 yesrs old... water leaking in somewhere, runs like crap, blah,blah.blah...Would rather play around with the outboard on my boat than to mess with a ski any day...

How about the cluster.. this ones has moisture built up in it and nothing works on the display.. any ideas on what to try ? cheap place to get one and how much ?
