So I recently purchased an 01 GTX seadoo from a repair shop. The owner/mechanic said that he went through the entire ski besides opening the head. Rebuilt the carb, new oil injector pump, new computer er r, new spark plugs, new jet pump, and a new battery and reverse bucket. He said the compression test was at 120-130 on each cylinder and it starts up and put out 500lbs of torque in the tank. He told me he had gone through 2 computers each time showing that one cylinder had a random miss fire. And with my experience with engines random miss fires would explain a rough idle and a non consistent power out put. With the symptoms i experienced below
I took it out for the first time yesterday and it was not a good experience, first it ran rough sounded like a bit of knocking, ever so often. It also has no power and hesitates to go beyond idle. It would occasionally go from 3000rmps at 10-15mph to 4500 5000rmps and get up to 20-35 mph but had now throttle response. Eventually it went to no power at all and would only go 10mph at 2500-3000 rpms no matter how much in fluctuated the throttle. Then after diving and sitting for 1hr the starter wouldn't engage. And I had to have my buddy tow me in. I NEED HELP ANY SUGGESTIONS PLEASE
