Hey guys back again lol pulled the engine on my second DI' decided to re-build it I have gone to serious schooling with these things bought them 3 summers ago,, and after all the headaches, seems I work on them more than I ride them, but if im one thing, im persistent, lmao, got the engine out and started the teardown, a couple little small issues other than corroded parts,

there are small check valves on the side of the engine cases, one of them is broken off and I need to replace it, anybody have any good tricks on removing them just got some really sad information, turns out both of my DI's were swamped when hurricane sandy ripped up the east coast,,both of them were swamped with saltwater and left setting for almost a year before I bought them,, they did a good cleanup on them up on them and brought them from the Wilmington coast to the charlotte nc area,,,i got really burned, but on the other hand,,i have gotten schooled on them,,,,being a greenhorn didn't help any what can you do but suck it up and fix them engine

I'm assuming you are talking about the intake reeds??

What bolts are you have issues with? The mounts, or the screws holding them into the cage? If it's the cage screws... then a little heat to break any thread locker will help. (small pencil torch on the backside) Then... if they are being very stubborn... you can support the inside of the cage with a block of wood... and use a hand impact to crack them loose.

If you've already stripped the heads... then it's going to be hard.

HI DOC, No they aren't the reeds, there are brass fitting on the crank case, the are hooked to the oil pump, the seem like they are oiling the crank, in the seadoo parts list they are PN # 9, one of the tubes that the oil line attaches to has broken off during removal of the engine, those little suckers cost 26.00 each and they are no larger than the circumference of a # 2 pencil, any ways thanks for the quick reply robert

depends on much mechanic experience you have. been one all my life, first get you a down load of the factory service manual, don't even attempt it without one, they are free if you look, take the console out and you will access to the pipe and such,, , take out the fuel tank, snd oil tank from there its no to bad,,, if you have any other question feel free to contact me or a couple other guys on here. they have helped me tremendously, good luck

I've have experience in mechanics I worm on cars, motorcycles , and I work professionally in stalling diesel engines on cutPaton built catamarans built in the company I work for so I have mechanical experience just never worked on a ski before. I like to do everything myself as I'm the one to be using it. This ski has Givin me nothing but dead ends and finally decided to jus pull the motor out. I didn't remove the tank or anything. I have motor completely loose jus need to lift to finish removing hoses underneath as I have read. What all is under there to look out for. The motor seems locked up pulled impeller off and still nothing tried removing starter starter wouldn't budge after prying and spraying it all day so decide to pull motor and may do a rebuild would need advice on that if u can. Seems like uveitis done it before. Sorry for running on ur post. Thank for the help it's greatly appreciated!!!
