This is my first post and want to start by saying hello to everyone. I am new at boat ownership so forgive me if I sound green, I am.
Last week I purchased an '01 Challenger with twin Rotax. During the test run everything went well. I had a blast with it and decided to buy it.
This past weekend I took it out and had problems trying to start the left motor. I had problems trying to keep it going at idle. Every other time I let it go to idle it would shut off. The left motor would not rev up like the right one. It seemed to top out at around 5500 while the other would easily go to max. Then, when I let off the gas on both throttles, the left motor would stay around 3-4000 for a few seconds while the right motor would go straight to idle.
By the end of the weekend I could not get the left motor to start. It didn't even want to start, the starter just turned and turned. I had to guide it to the trailer with one motor and you can imagine that for someone like myself who has never owned a boat, that was interesting to say the least!
This was not a great first weekend for me with my boat. But I'm certain that with the help of this forum, I can get this problem worked out.
