    05 4 Tec Surging.

I just got word from the shop that while accessing the TPS to do a bench test, the technician noticed that the intercooler was cracked. He hooked it up to water and verified the leak. new IC on the way. They are very confident that this is the cause of my issue. I will post an update after...

    05 4 Tec Surging.

Update... took the boat out for a rip on the weekend, still surging 5400-6000 rpm. The sound is annoying oh well, at least my SC got rebuilt and I have fresh plugs :) Gonna touch base with the technician tomorrow and ask about the TPS. Perhaps this is something I can do my own. Does anyone...

thanks for the tip, so are you suggesting to replace entire TPS or the cam on the TPS. THANKS again, I’m not a gear head, got to dumb it down for me lol

    05 4 Tec Surging.

I wish it were easy. I don't mind forking over some dough to fix a problem. I HATE forking over my hard earned cash to fish for a solution. I ran 1 can off seafoam through 25L (8gal) of fuel (so high concentration relatively) and it made no difference. Perhaps I need more? It's weird...

    Surging RPM

Just wanted to give this thread a bump. I took my boat into an authorized dealer, they say the jet pump, wear ring and impeller are in good shape, changed the plugs and had the SC rebuilt as it was approaching 100hrs. I have yet to test it, hopefully this weekend. I will report back!

I have the exact same issue on my 2012 Challenger 180 4-etc. please post if you get it sorted. Spark plugs didn’t do it for me. I just had my SC rebuilt, I’m going to do a test run this weekend.

    Surging RPM

Update... I changed the plugs today. No noticeable improvement :( I’ll shift towards the injectors next. Is there anything else that I should consider?

    Surging RPM

Hey all, I’ve recently noticed that my 2012 Challenger 180 surges at a specific throttle position. It usually happens in the 5000RPM range. When it happens, the RPM will surge about 400rpm higher before achieving it’s nominal rpm and the cycle will repeat until throttle is either...

    1 long beep while driving

I sometimes get a beep while towing the kids on a tube. I think it may be the fuel shifting while maneuvering.

    Fuel Pump?

OK, I did as the Dr. ordered. Took out the brass screw and "blue" fuel came out. What should I do next? Look at the square pump? What am I to look for when I take off the square box of a pump? Thanks for your patience and knowledge. Kind regards, Neo.

    Fuel Pump?

Hey guys, Was out on the weekend hauling the kids around tubing when I lost engine power. I tried restarting and it started briefly then cut out. Tried a few more times but couldn't hold idle more than a couple of seconds. Towed it to shore and tried another start, no ignition, just engine...

    overheat???

Well... I got the boat back on the water today. It ran well, no beeps, no lights for about 20 minutes at half power. I opened it up to full power and still no beeps. Stopped the engine and went for a dip. After a short break we started up and took another rip. On this occasion the light DID...

    overheat???

Hey Dr H, Does this boat/engine combo have a low fuel level warning?

    overheat???

Thanks again gentlemen. I have done the flush and drained the fuel filter. There was no visible water and only a little debris when i collected the fuel. My only observation is that it seemed heavier when compared to a new one out of box. I'm trying to track down the part# for the fuel...
