Sounds like cavitation. Check your impeller and intake for any debris. If free and clear check the impeller for damage, if free and clear, check to make sure your pump is properly torqued to the ski.
Hi all, I've just relocated from San Diego to WA (Snohomish) for work and family. Now I'm looking for a place to go enjoy my ski's. I live pretty close to Lake Steven's but a quick check shows that there is a 35mph speed limit, is this accurate?
I'm thinking of maybe hitting Lake Washigton...
Hi All,
I'm relocating from San Diego to Washington (lake stevens) area to be closer to family and I'm taking on a new job thats based there. I'm a little bummed to be leaving amazing weather and a very long riding season but I am looking forward to checking out the many lakes WA has to offer...
Man this ski runs beautifully now that I've sorted the cavitation out. One questions I have is, my digital Tach (tiny tach pro) is reading about 6.8k wot while hooked. Is it worth adjusting my high speed screws a touch to get closer to max rpm? Remember I have rebuilt everything so I "believe"...
Sounds like your shaft didnt fully seat because of the bumper. when you torqued the pump down it pushed your bellow forward off of the through hull fitting which I think maybe you had a leak coming from the rearward side of the bellow, also this probably messed with the carbon ring as that needs...
have you checked inside of the impeller to make sure there isn't a rubber bumper upside down in there? I almost made this mistake before, if there is enough grease sometimes the bumper will get stuck in there. Where you've circled is the through hull fitting, it's not uncommon to get a leak...
I called the local dealer and they are stumped on this as well. Can anyone bring some clarity to this?
From another forum on this very issue Bill O'neal writes:
A 98 pump does not have the recessed edge to install the rubber seal onto, like a 99+ pump has.
If the pump support plate and ride...
I probably could, but i just didnt want risk it with it maybe being defective, and for the cost having a spare isnt a bad thing.
BTW I love the Dominos Noid avatar!
