Xpl alignment issue

So I aligned my xpl with seadoo tool, had it spot on, but when I reinstalled pump and shaft, there was a fair amount of gap between couplings. So I tried to realign engine a little further back, and now pto end is sitting way too high, I've tried leveling out with shims but it's too extreme. Any clue why the engine decides to get off alignment that much? Or should I just go with the gap in the coupling since it's aligned at least. I'll upload some pics in a bit

Side note: took the speedster out again this weekend and everybody was clamouring for a ride. It's Def a hit!

Yes, I agree... So it's my pump not sealing correctly therefore my drive shaft isn't all the way in? It's a good inch short it seems at the coupling

I had to piece a few things together, mostly engine stuff like carbs and exhaust, engine was out, mounts were out. The pump and shaft up to the PTO were in tact.

Racer, you're my hero. The back two motor mounts had a inch or so shim in each that wasn't supposed to be there. Now my bolts are too long, Matt Braley you got any xpl motor mount bolts? My surgery is Tuesday, and I'ma be out of the fight for two weeks back in SC

You can get the screws at Lowe's, if they're the screws that go thru the horse shoe they're M8x16.

Yes I'll be there tomorrow.

You could just get an extra couple stainless washers or see if you can dig some salt crud out of the threaded holes.
