XP DI Rebuild

I'm getting close to finishing up rebuilding an engine on an XP DI that I bought and I keep finding all sorts of surprises along the way that are messed up.

I found this weird piece in the oil reservoir that looks like it broke off of something. Can somebody tell me were it goes?

Also I have these two insulated black tubes and i don't know what runs inside of them.

Ok I have another question.

On the oil lines, it say that there is an oil line going "under air compressor" (see attached image from shop manual).

Where exactly is this line going below the air compressor?

Insulated tubes

They look like the air tubes that hook up to the two holes on ither side of the fuel filler neck. they bring air into the engine compartment so the engine can run:willy_nilly:

just a relief valve, for atop of oil bottle.

the manual shows it going to the engine below the air pump?
