xp cylinder sides

Hey all,
does anyone know if I can use a 97 model 787 xp front cylinder to replace
my 96 model xp rear cylinder?
The water outlet elbow would be closer to the cylinder it is next to,
and would need to be turned 180 degrees.
Would the rave valve line up, and would the rest of this idea work?

it'll work, just flip the water outlet fitting/elbow.

Hi seadooya, & thank you very much for your help.
I've still got to work out what caused the failure of my piston
and rave valve so I'll have a good look through this great forum
and see what I can find.
Anyhow, thank you once again. I can now purchase a used cylinder
(from the US of A, you don't want to know what they charge down here!)
and hopefully get back on the water real soon.
Can't wait!
